Twitter users confuse Indian IT consultant for Robin Van Persie

An IT consultant in India has been inundated with praise – and possibly abuse from Arsenal supporters – in a case of mistaken identity.

52 year-old Ravi Visvesvaraya Sharada Prasad has the Twitter handle @rvp which resulted in him being the recipient of a large volume of tweets intended for and about United striker Robin Van Persie after becoming a Premier League champion for the first time on Monday night.

Now we don’t know if Ravi is in contention to be the Consultant of the Year or if he has been one of the outstanding performers in the Indian field this year, but he was good-natured enough to have a bit of fun with the mistaken identity.

The Indian based consultant showed a great sense of humour over the whole incident and was making the most of it today with some tweets about the player himself, Fergie and his own playing ability.

As one commenter put it, “he tweets when he wants, he tweets when he wants…”
