Video: A GAA tournament in Texas features lots of sweating, and lots of great scores

This great video, shot by our good friend Jerome Quinn, shows that Gaelic football is alive, and very well, in Texas.

This great video, shot by our good friend Jerome Quinn, shows that Gaelic football is alive, and very well, in Texas.

It’s been hot here for the last few weeks but like everything in Texas, it was more so there. That didn’t deter the hardy souls who make up the GAA clubs of the southern United States from playing the annual Wild Geese Texas GAA Championships.

Played in Houston last weekend, it featured teams like the San Antonio San Patricios, Austin Celtic Cowboys and the Houston Fenians and it also features some very nice scores, of which the goal at around 1.57 is our personal favourite.

It is great to see our games being embraced so warmly by communities so far from here. Hats off to all involved, especially @JeromeQuinn for putting the video together.
