This kind of thing isn’t really supposed to happen, but it’s hard not to raise a smile nonetheless.
He’s one of our favourite footballers in JOE Towers, so we can completely understand the level of affection in which the brilliant Andres Iniesta must be held by Barcelona and Spain fans alike.
Despite Barcelona suffering a potentially crucial 1-0 defeat to Granada last night, one young fan was particularly keen to demonstrate her love for Iniesta while he was conducting a post-match interview after the game, clutching him tightly to her and not letting go until being prised away by security staff.
To his credit, although he must have been pretty p*ssed off at the result, Andres didn’t flinch and merely patted his admirer on the head until she was eventually led away; we didn’t need another reason to love the man but he’s gone and given us one anyway.
A class act.
