Goalmouth scrambles don’t come more almighty than this one…
Why exactly we’re not sure, but as long as you’ve no allegiance to the teams involved, there are few more entertaining things on a football pitch than a goalmouth scramble and the more ridiculous they are and the more players they involve, the better.
We’re not sure how this one from the League Two meeting Cheltenham and Morecambe at the weekend escaped our attention until now but it’s up there with the best we’ve seen in a long time.
Just when you think it’s going to be cleared, the ball seems to be drawn like a magnet back into the box where player after player fails to clear it or hit it into the net, until one of them spoils it all by volleying it wide about 20 seconds after the fun starts.
