Such is the apparent simplicity in taking a corner that it’s pretty hard to make a balls of it, but Armenia’s Aras Ozbilis managed to do just that during a 1-0 defeat to Denmark earlier today. And then some.
Trying to catch the Danish defence off guard, Ozbilis succeeded only in kicking the corner flag and then fell in a hilariously laboured fashion before grabbing the ball as he had in fact been fouled by an invisible opponent lurking somewhere behind.
We shouldn’t really laugh but we can’t help ourselves.
