Over the weekend, Drew MacIntyre of the Toronto Marlies (AHL) made an incredible behind the back save. You have to see it to believe it.
Ice hockey is one seriously fast game and it can be hard trying to keep an eye on the puck when you’re watching a game on TV, let alone when you’re out in the rink. So fair play to Canadian keeper Drew MacIntyre for the amazing save he made at the weekend.
You may need to wait for the slow-mo…
While it’s easily the best catch we’ve seen on an ice hockey rink, one commentator on YouTube managed to burst everyone’s bubble with this: “If you check the trajectory of the shot, the puck would have missed the goal by a foot anyway… Nice catch, though.”
Whether or not the puck was going into the goal doesn’t really matter. It was an amazing save, and you’re not likely to see another one like it anytime soon.
