Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Forlan, David Villa, eh, Jan Dahl Tomasson; all of the biggest names in football are here and they’re all making absolute fools of themselves.
Forget about brilliant goals, glorious pieces of individual skill or top class saves, what football fans really enjoy are compilation clips of the lighter side of football, be it comedy own goals, players falling over in comical fashion or in this case, hilarious own-goal miss after hilarious own-goal miss.
Like we said, there are some big and some not so big names in here and even though the clips (part one above and part two below) are nearly a year old, we were reminded of their brilliance when James Dart of The Guardian tweeted links to them earlier today.

There are some cracking and some inexplicable misses in both compilations but our highlight is undoubtedly the ingenious insertion of a comedy sound effect following one particular miss approximately 3:20 into the video at the top of the page.
