The guy in question tells his mother to come in and sit down as there was something he needed to tell her, before divulging that the girl who stayed over recently has just found out she is pregnant.
You would expect any kind of reaction barring the one we see, and without spoiling the ending, we have to assume she knew what he was up to.
Fair play to her, she didn’t mince here words.
