Portugal were given quite a scare tonight by Northern Ireland, but the man who previously held the record for the most expensive player in football got his team out of trouble again.
He showed his aerial prowess to grab his first two with his head, but the third came from a free kick which, in fairness, was a little bit unlucky for Northern Ireland as it took a deflection off the wall.
As someone on Twitter commented, he must have a pretty bad back since he’s been carrying the Portuguese national team for the last few years.
Overall, the match was a spicy affair as Helder Postiga saw red for Portugal while Brunt and Lafferty were both sent off for Northern Ireland, so the referee had a busy night.
