This is a truly horrible leg break for Louisville Cardinals player Kevin Ware in the NCAA , who jumps to block a shot from Duke’s Tyler Thornton and lands awkwardly on his leg, which immediately breaks on impact.
It’s a truly gruesome scene, and even his team-mates and opponents who were standing near him are badly shaken by seeing the incident, some of whom threw up and broke down in tears.
Depsite this horrific injury, he told his team-mates to keep going and play on, not to worry about him. In an amazing story, the team did just that, going on to win the game handsomely 85-63 and qualifying for the Final Four tournament.
Latest reports suggest that he had surgery on the leg, which was broken in two places, and is expected to be out for at least a year. Obviously, we hope he’s making a speedy recovery and wish him all the best, this is a nasty looking injury.
