Ever heard of Liam Ying, Win Nowt or Win Ding Youup? You shouldn’t have because they don’t actually exist, but some Chelsea fans seem to think they do.

Ever heard of Liam Ying, Win Nowt or Win Ding Youup? You shouldn’t have because they don’t actually exist, but some Chelsea fans seem to think they do.

The end of the January window is in sight and with various media outlets having only days with which to generate gossip, there are a lot of players – some well-known, some not so well-known – being linked with moves to various clubs at the moment.

The folks behind a Manchester United fan site on YouTube, Full Time Devils, in association with TalkSport, decided to prey on fans’ interest in the transfer rumour mill by sending Andrew Ryan down to Stamford Bridge to discuss potential targets with Chelsea fans.

The fact that none of these players actually exist – not just that but they are given ridiculous names to increase the embarrassment of the gullible fans falling for the prank – doesn’t seem to affect the ability of Chelsea fans to talk at length about the likes of Liam Ying (I am lying), Deanio (No Idea) or Win Ding Youup (Winding you up), although it should be said that Ryan does a great job of convincing them that they are real and that Chelsea are interested in signing them.

Thankfully for the credibility of Chelsea fans everywhere, a group of them did realise that Ryan was winding them up towards the end of the clip, but the few minutes before that are pure gold.

Well played sir, very well played indeed.
