He didn’t hit it quite as hard as Zlatan did last week, but it wasn’t far off.

The Icelandic international put Spurs ahead in their Capital One Cup clash with Hull this evening with a goal that would probably feature amongst the contenders for goal of the season in any other campaign, but was just another great goal in this season of wonder strikes.

Taking the ball into his stride with a wonderful half-turn 30 yards from goal, Sigurdsson caught the ball with as sweet a half volley as you could ask for and watched in delight as it rocketed into the roof of the net.
