Nik Wallenda has been labelled both crazy and courageous after his historic tightrope walk across the Grand Canyon. We tend to agree with both viewpoints.
The daredevil, who hails from a strong family tradition of tightrope walkers, chose the iconic landmark as the perfect place to showcase his talents to the world yesterday.
Taking a quarter-mile crossing of an offshoot of the canyon, Wallenda slowly made his way across a tightrope 1500 feet above the canyon’s floor, strapped with a camera for good measure.
Wallenda, whose grandfather died doing a similar stunt in Puerto Rico in 1978, showed little fear as he moved across in a time of 22 minutes and 54 seconds. Even his reaction afterwards was cool, calm and collected.
Thank you to everyone that watched and believed.

Here is a video of the final part of his epic challenge.
And to think that we struggle to walk in a straight line at the best of times.
