It may have been a difficult night for Ireland in Cologne on Friday, but as ever the supporters were making the most of their trip.
A 3-0 defeat was hardly unexpected as the Germans showed why they are one of the best teams in the world with Noel King hoping to salvage something in Tuesday’s final group game with Kazakhstan.
Our travelling support has built quite the reputation at this stage, so much so that the German Sky Sports News even did a small feature piece in the lead up to the game, showing our travelling fans soking up the atmosphere as well as the local brew in Cologne.
The reporter also got a little more than he bargained for when one supporter decided to shower him in beer, but in fairness to him, he took it all in good spirits before joining in with the singing and even sent on a file of the report to the lads, which they duly sent our way.
