Video: Irish lad nails crossbar challenge effort with a superb piece of skill

We have our doubts about whether this was his first attempt or not, but we have to admit that it’s still pretty sweet.

We have our doubts about whether this was his first attempt or not, but we have to admit that it’s still pretty sweet.

Thanks to its popularity on Soccer AM and elsewhere, the crossbar challenge is almost a universally accepted training ground routine nowadays and is taken on by practitioners of pretty much any sport involving a ball and a set of goalposts.

As it has evolved, the task of hitting the crossbar simply isn’t enough for some these days and trailblazers are constantly seeking to do it in cooler and more skilful ways, as was the case with young Darren O’Sullivan, who pulled off this very impressive effort on a set of GAA goalposts recently.

Although, like we said, we can’t be certain that it was first attempt, but we can only echo the noises of approval emitted by those present with Darren at the time and if you have any evidence of similar efforts by yourselves or your friends, feel free to send them our way via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
