Tiger Woods could be facing disqualification at the Masters as a result of a controversial drop at the 15th
By Adrian Collins
After a decent shot on the 15th where he hit the pin, Tiger Woods saw his ball roll back and land in the water, meaning he’d have to take it again, which you can see in the video here.
The controversial moment came when he dropped the ball to re-take his shot, but dropped it two yards back from where his original shot was.
While this would only result in a one shot penalty, the difference is in the fact Tiger admitted in an interview afterwards that the knew he’d dropped it back two yards since the ground where his shot had been taken was not great.
This would mean that he knowingly signed off on an incorrect scorecard that didn’t include the penalty, which would be an automatic disqualification.
While this all seems like quite a technicality, there will be a bit of a decision to be made by those in charge this morning when they get a look at the tape.
