Despite early concerns about whether they’d work as a partnership, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have worked a treat on Sky’s Monday Night Football so far this season and as well as some insightful analysis, they’ve provided loads of light-hearted moments to boot.
They were at it again this evening when attention turned to whether or not Liverpool can actually go on and win the league, having risen to the top of the table (for the time being at least) at the weekend after another Luis Suarez-inspired victory over Cardiff.
Former Liverpool man Carragher expressed his opinion that the Reds could do it, an opinion that was met instantly with laughter by Neville, who, in fairness to him, did so jocularly before going on to praise Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers for what they’ve done this season.
The pair of them went onto talk about Suarez and how important he is to Liverpool’s prospects, with Carragher comparing him to past Premier League greats like Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry in terms of how far ahead he is of everyone else in the league at the moment.
