Everyone’s favourite controversial scouser Joey Barton exercised his intellectual muscles last night on BBC’s Question Time and, of course, he courted controversy.

Joey Barton has long been one of the most controversial footballers of his generation. Since the growth of social media and particularly sites like Twitter, we have had an insight into the workings of his brain. The BBC have obviously noticed that he has opinions on stuff like politics so they invited him on to their flagship political chat show, Question Time, along with Piers Morgan.

Watch as he dismisses the real impact of the big UKIP vote and especially how he likens them to being the best of a bad bunch. He goes further by comparing the available options in the election to a ‘group of ugly girls.’ Needless to say, the UKIP representative was none too pleased and went off on one, dismissing the intelligence of footballers in general. Ah Joey, you never fail to leave a mark.
