Video: Junior soccer player in Northern Ireland wins the prize for the most hilariously bad free-kick of 2014

Oh my God.

Conor Heneghan

Oh my God.

You’ve probably come across some awful free-kick attempts in the past and already even this year and you’re going to come across some terrible ones in the future, but in terms of hilariously bad free-kicks, this one taken in a Mid-Ulster Intermediate A clash in the last few days deserves to be up there with the best of all time.

We don’t like to name and shame – who are we kidding, we don’t mind at all – but the guilty party was one Seamus Kane of Camlough Rovers in their clash with Banbridge Rangers at the weekend.

Camlough ended up winning the game 3-1 so Seamus’ free-kick failings didn’t prove costly in the end, but while few will remember the match itself, plenty will remember the free-kick as it has already attracted over 1,300 YouTube views at the time of writing, a figure that will no doubt increase significantly after the exposure given to it by our good selves.

We’ll let you see it for yourself in all its glory above but to say that Seamus got it all wrong would be an understatement and the reaction of hysterical laughter almost immediately after he kicked the ball says more than words ever could.
