Give this man an entrepreneurial award…

Talk about starting up your own business, this is ingenious.

Following a landslide in England, a road in Kelston near Bath was closed cutting off access to a number of neighbouring villages and towns including Bath. A diversion was put in place but it was a 14 mile trip and people were getting fed up with the added time to their journey.

Say hello to Mike Watts.

The businessman – and possibly the cleverest man alive – has set up a road through his land which cuts the journey down to just one minute. The small problem for motorists is the fact he has set up a toll on the road and is charging £2 for cars to pass. The crafty beggar…

However, when you consider that the alternative is about 14 miles, it would probably cost them that much in petrol anyway so it is well worth the levy for the time saved on the journey.

How is all this legal you may ask? Well, we’re no expert on planning permission and the laws of the land so have a watch of the video for a better explanation of why all of this is entirely above board…
