Having taken the lead in the first half through Ricardo Vaz Te, they regained it early in the second half with a quite brilliant effort from Mohamed Diame, who took a pass from Guy Demel, turned on a sixpence and curled a beauty with his left foot beyond David de Gea and into the far bottom corner.
Wayne Rooney won’t be happy with how easily he let Diame get away from him, but let nothing take away from the quality of the strike; they don’t come much sweeter than that.
