Newcastle could not have made a worse start to the Premier League season than this
The way things were going in this match, a red card was almost inevitable, as it has been a pretty feisty affair with bookings on both sides, and the ref setting the tone early on.
However, Newcastle were treading a very fine line, with both full backs on yellow cards, before Steven Taylor was sent off (some might say harshly) for hitting Sergio Aguero in an aerial challenge.
To be fair, he is looking up at the ball, but it was a poor decision from Taylor to lash out and the referee was unequivocal in his decision, and wasn’t listening to any of Taylor’s protests.
