The Canadians, a great bunch of lads

The Canadians, a great bunch of lads

After yesterday’s breathtaking final, hurling was the big subject of discussion last night at the dinner table as well as the water cooler today, but it seems that Ireland wasn’t the only place that the game was being talked about.

Over in Canada, two local lads were shooting the breeze, and one of them, Russell, tries to explain to his mate Eric exactly what the sport is all about, how you play it, and what the special and unique nature of it is.

We’ve never heard the game described as a combination of handball, polo, women’s lawn hockey, ice hockey and Lacrosse, but in a way, that’s not a terrible description. Fair play Russell, there’s a job in Croke Park for you down the line in the Global Expansion and Marketing division, we’re sure.
