Somebody get this footage over to Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane quick.
To say Richard Dunne was missed by Irish fans during his lengthy lay-off would be an understatement and to see him back playing first team football for QPR on a regular basis – and playing very well – is a very encouraging sight indeed.
The Honey Monster delivered one of his best performances of the season for Harry Redknapp’s side in their 3-1 win over Ipswich at Portman Road on Saturday (Ipswich scored their goal in second-half injury time) and was deservedly voted the man of the match via the club’s fans on the official QPR Twitter account.
QPR have since released a highlight reel of Dunne’s best bits and needless to say the Ipswich attack barely got a look in as Dunne repeatedly foiled them with a series of tackles and clever interceptions.
We’re not quite talking Moscow-like levels of heroism here but Dunne certainly seems to have a lot left in the tank and will hopefully show the new Irish management team what he can do against Serbia in March.
