In light of Shane Long’s struggles in front of goal against Serbia earlier this month, Irish football fans were reminded of just how much we miss Robbie Keane’s accuracy in front of goal when he’s not around.
Robbie demonstrated just how accurate he can be with a very flashy looking trick shot at LA Galaxy training recently, lobbing a lovely effort straight into a nearby shopping trolley being wheeled by an assistant, a video of which was posted on the Galaxy YouTube page.
We don’t think we’ve seen Robbie as excited as this since the goal against Germany in Ibaraki in 2002, but impressive though it undoubtedly was, we don’t think it was his first attempt at executing the shot.
Just as the clip is about to come to an end, listen out for somebody shout ‘Beckham would have got it in one’ in the direction of the Irish skipper and thus spoil the moment, though we doubt that Robbie himself heard it.
