Robbie Keane has grabbed his 60th goal for Ireland tonight with what could be a crucial goal against Sweden, but the lead didn’t last too long

A fantastic effort from Robbie Keane saw the Ireland team take the lead against Sweden at the Aviva stadium tonight. Keane never gave up on a ball over the top, which gave Isaksson in the Swedish goal some problems, and while the original effort squeezed through and hit the post, he was on hand to tuck in the rebound.

Keane, who now has 60 goals for Ireland, was absolutely thrilled to score, and once again got the business done for the Boys in Green on the big stage.

Johan Elmander got on the end of a fantastic cross to level things though, as Sweden responded well to going behind. James McClean couldn’t close down the ball in, and Elmander got in front of his man to put a powerful header past Forde.

Shane Long pulled up with an injury after a great run saw him get into the Swedish box, but thankfully he was able to return to the pitch after a short period of treatment.
