Video: Ronaldinho NEARLY scored the goal of the season last night

OK, so his final shot ended up going wide of the target, but Ronaldinho’s amazing solo run for Atletico Mineiro against Sao Paolo last night deserved so much more.

OK, so his final shot ended up going wide of the target, but Ronaldinho’s amazing solo run for Atletico Mineiro against Sao Paolo last night deserved so much more.

He might not be as prominent on the world stage as he was in his Barcelona days, but Ronaldinho is still providing bucketloads of entertainment now that he’s back home in Brazil seeing out the final stages of his career with Atletico Mineiro.

In the last few weeks, he’s scored an outrageously cheeky goal in the Copa Libertadores and knocked in a very impressive bicycle-kick in training, but last night he nearly topped the lot with an amazing solo run in his side’s 4-1 victory over Sao Paolo.

Receiving the ball in virtually no space on the left wing, Ronaldinho knocked it past one defender, nutmegged another and managed to weave his way between another three in the penalty area before narrowly failing in his attempt to curl the ball in at the far post. So, so close.

Yep, he’s still got it.
