Sochi’s Slopestyle course has gotten plenty of criticism for being too dangerous, so here’s a look at it, GoPro-style
Yesterday, possibly the most famous of the Winter Olympics athletes, Shaun White, pulled out of the Slopestyle event at Sochi as he deemed that the course was too dangerous and carried too great a risk of injury given what he wanted to achieve in the other events.
He wasn’t the only one, and it has gotten its fair share of criticism in the run up to the start of the Winter Olympics later this week. Whether or not Alexey Sobolev thinks it’s dangerous remains to be seen, as he decided to strap a GoPro to his helmet and head down the slope.
The resulting footage is very cool, but we have to admit that we’re happier sitting here with our cup of tea than out there jumping over giant statues of Russian dolls. That’s possibly why we’re not at the Olympics, of course…
