One of those that you knew was heading for the back of the net as soon as it left his boot. Take a bow son, what a strike.

There are brilliant team goals and there are brilliant individual efforts scored in football on a regular basis but few things make a fan jump up and go ‘Wow’ than when a player strikes a ball as hard as he can and it rattles into the net via the underside of the crossbar.

Tony Yeboah used to be an expert at that sort of goal but Watford’s Nathaniel Chalobah produced a strike to rival any of Yeboah’s best efforts last night with a truly stunning hit against Leicester that was in net before you could even see it leave his boot.

Running onto a loose ball 30 yards from goal, Chalobah let fly with his right foot and watched as the ball struck the underside of the crossbar and dropped behind the line at a ferocious pace for one of the best goals you’ll see all year.

Yeboah, eat your heart out.
