Video: The promotional video for Chelsea’s new kit is just a bit mental

The words ‘John Terry’, ‘half-naked’ and ‘blue’ in a sentence are enough to scare anyone, but unfortunately they all apply to a quite mental ad promoting Chelsea’s new home kit for next season.

The words ‘John Terry’, ‘half-naked’ and ‘blue’ in a sentence are enough to scare anyone, but unfortunately they all apply to a quite mental ad promoting Chelsea’s new home kit for next season.

The Chelsea skipper was one of a number of players who stripped down to their smalls and had themselves covered in blue paint in a promotional ad for their new home kit for next season which is based on the rather smug tagline ‘It’s Blue. What else matters’.

Dare we suggest to the folks at Adidas that if that’s the case, then wouldn’t the fans be as well as off just turning up in a blue t-shirt next season as opposed to shelling out 60 odd quid for a piece of kit that will probably be out of date within a year?

As well as the ad itself, a number of even more disturbing images of the Chelsea players covered in nothing but blue paint were also released, conjuring up a quite terrifying scenario of what it would be like if they ever started playing football on Pandora, the fictional planet featured in the movie Avatar a few years back.

You can probably recognise all the players above but in case you can’t Demba Ba is on the far left with Juan Mata beside him, while Terry is on the far right and the guy next to him is Gary Cahill, whose left hand is a little too close to Terry’s crotch for comfort.
