Jose Mourinho is a journalist’s dream. Which is why the ITV interview which was cut short has people scratching their heads.

Knocked out at the Champions League semi-final stage for the fifth time in his career, he was always going to have something interesting to say. That initially came when he questioned Howard Webb’s decision not to send of Mats Hummels tonight, but he only looked to be warming up when Gabriel Clarke told The Special One he had to finish there.
Then when he realised he might get a clue as to Jose’s next career move, the Portuguese man seemed happy to talk only for Clarke again to cut him off, before the show finished as it had run out of time.
Now the main issue was obviously the fear of disrupting the programming schedule, but for the sake of another minute, ITV could have got more quality quotes from the Real Madrid boss.
We were among the many disappointed with the short interview, with some stinging criticism online for the broadcaster.
