Henry is the biggest earner in the MLS, just ahead of our own Robbie, and the 35 year-old showed that he still has that touch of class when scoring an eye-catching goal for the New York Red Bulls. He scored a brace as they saw off the challenge of Montreal and it was the second that caught the imagination.

A corner from Juninho – so that’s where he ended up – was flicked on and Henry finished in style, though we’re not sure it was quite as good as the commentators made it out to be.

“Thierry Henry cycles one home” and “Goal of the decade” were some of the claims and while it was a classy finish, it may have been a touch of hyperbole from the boys behind the mic.

Henry’s tally now stands at five goals already for the season and showing why he commands a salary of $4.35 million a year.

You have to hand it to him, he knows where the net is.
