Video: This American tourist has obviously never been to Donegal or Sligo

We’d probably be the exact same in a place we’re not familiar with, but it’s still funny to hear Irish towns pronounced like this on the national news.

We’d probably be the exact same in a place we’re not familiar with, but it’s still funny to hear Irish towns pronounced like this on the national news.

While students and commuters are amongst those most put out by the Bus Eireann strike, it also must be pretty disconcerting for tourists to this country who had planned bus excursions to different parts of the country only to find out that said buses won’t be leaving the station.

That’s what happened to one American tourist who was questioned on RTE News last night and revealed that he’ll have to come up with alternative plans to visit Donegal or Sligo, or Dunagil and Sleego, as he liked to call them.

As we said, we’d probably be the exact same on our travels and we’re amongst the worst culprits when it comes to pronouncing English words in a foreign accent abroad in the hope that the locals will understand, but at least, to the best of our knowledge, this guy wasn’t planning on visiting Muckanaghederdauhaulia in Galway.

Now that really would have tested him.
