Video: This seven-year old freestyle hurler from Down has some serious skills

They say hurling is a young man’s game but when you have a seven year-old who can pull off skills that a senior stickman would be proud of, you know you have a potential star on your hands.

The star in question – the star of the County Down if you like – is seven-year old Cahal Coleman from Portaferry, who has produced an incredibly impressive compilation clip of his skills for his entry into a freestyle hurling competition being run by the GAA at the moment.

Whether it’s empty containers on a wall, a moving tyre, a moving car or a partially open skylight window, no target is safe from Cahal’s laser-accurate strikes and it will take some performance to top this from a young man who must be the youngest or at least one of the youngest entries into the competition to date.

I am hurling indeed.
