Video: Today’s prize for most unfortunate tweet goes to Ronaldo

Of course it is all above board, but surely it could have been phrased a little better than this.

Ronaldo himself employs a team to look after his social media duties, so you would think that at least one of them would have highlighted that this tweet might appear a little odd.

The CR7 Boys Underwear competition was an opportunity for fans out there to come up with creative designs that would be used in the underwear collection, though the tweet might give the impression of something a little untoward.

The tweet has been quickly picked and gathered 2,000 retweets within 20 minutes, so the brand is getting plenty of exposure, but perhaps not for the reasons they had hoped.

As we said, we’d imagine Ronnie himself has nothing to do with it all and has little interest, but someone on the team may be getting their P45.

The clever clogs have since removed the tweet.
