We pity the poor Villa fans who popped out to the jacks and came back to see that their team had fallen two goals behind while they were gone.

Arsenal need a win to go back ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table and they’re well on their way to doing so after Jack Wilshere and Olivier Giroud scored within a minute at Villa Park to give the Gunners a 2-0 half-time lead.

Wilshere burst into the area to get on the end of a Nacho Monreal pass and produced an assured finish to put the visitors ahead after 34 minutes…

…and barely a minute had passed before Wilshere turned provider with a dinked through ball to Olivier Giroud, which the Frenchman controlled with a couple of touches before rattling the ball past Brad Guzan in the Villa goal.
