As Tony Yeboah fans will testify, it’s hard to beat goals that go in off the underside of the crossbar.

As Tony Yeboah fans will testify, it’s hard to beat goals that go in off the underside of the crossbar.

What makes Toure’s goal even more impressive, in fact, is that he put it in possibly the only place in the goal that wasn’t covered as Hull’s Ahmed El Mohamady made a desperate but ultimately fruitless attempt to get back on the line and clear it to safety.

Toure’s goal, his second goal and his second brilliantly executed free-kick of the season, secured a 2-0 victory for the hosts after substitute Alvaro Negredo opened the scoring but they had it far from all their own way and Hull arguably deserved to take more away from the Etihad, particularly based on their first half performance.

Not much they can do they about goals of this quality, mind.
