Jesse Lingaard grabbed the first goal of the David Moyes reign at Man United and scored a rasping second as the Red Devils cruised to a 5-1 victory of the A-League All Stars in Sydney.
The young midfielder has yet to play a competitive game for United but was chosen by Moyes as one of the 19 players to travel Down Under on the pre-season tour and after defeat last time out, it took just 11 minutes to get on the scoresheet with a neat finish.
Even without Wayne Rooney in the squad, the attack looked menacing throughout as Danny Welbeck also grabbed a brace and Robin van Persie also finding the net against a defence that wasn’t exactly water-tight.

Not to be confused with the Danish goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, the English midfielder’s second was the pick of the bunch, and yes the term “schoolboy” does come to mind to describe the defensive efforts.
For the 20 year-old it represents the fulfilment, in part, of his boyhood dreams as this picture posted by his mother Kirsty demonstrates.
After a loan spell at Leicester City last season, the Old Trafford faithful will be keeping a close eye on the progress of this young talent.
