Vine: Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates his 250th game for Real Madrid with his 255th goal for the club

Not a bad strike rate, and the goal wasn’t too shabby either.

We take the phenomenal strike rate of Cristiano Ronaldo, and his great rival Lionel Messi, for granted so it is always good to get a reminder of just how special they are.

In Real Madrid’s first game of the new La Liga season, Ronaldo notched up his 250th appearance for the club. And, to mark to occasion, he rattled home a late goal in a 2-0 win over Cordoba.

The goal wasn’t too bad at all, a fine scuttling strike from nearly 30 yards, but it was the fact that it was the 255th goal Ronaldo has scored for Los Blancos that made it truly remarkable.

Over a goal a game is simply not normal, especially at the very highest level of the game. We’ll only truly appreciate him and Messi when they are gone.
