We’re not saying Diego Costa missed because your man was baring his arse behind the goal, but it certainly couldn’t have helped.
Atletico’s star man missed from twelve yards midway through the second half when trying to double his side’s lead against Getafe this evening and although Codina in the Getafe goal deserves credit for saving it, two home fans behind the goal can also take some responsibility for Costa failing to hit the net; one for sticking up his middle finger in Costa’s direction and the other for, well, you’ll see for yourself…
Costa did eventually get on the scoresheet but in the process of doing so he collided with the frame of the goal and picked up a nasty-looking injury that, thankfully, isn’t as bad as it first looked.
Imagine if he had missed out on the rest of the season or the World Cup because of that? What a bummer that would have been.
