West Brom apologise for their smartass tweet about Marouane Fellaini last night
It wasn't a very heart-felt apology though...
West Brom shouldn't give up the day job just yet because their attempt at being a clever clogs banter merchant Fell flat on its face during their Premier League clash with Manchester United last night.
The Baggies led 1-0 at the break thanks to a Stephane Sessegnon strike and United were forced to change things at the interval with Marouane Fellaini introduced in place of Ander Herrera.
The West Brom Twitter folks spotted that was going to happen and decided to tweet this...
Fellaini has now taken his tracksuit off, fortunately he has a Man Utd strip on underneath #WBAMUN

However, it wasn't long before the smirk was wiped off their face as Fellaini equalised for Louis Van Gaal's men and this prompted thousands of United fans to retweet the post.
The account came in for some stick from the Twitter community and were forced to apologise but you get the feeling they didn't really mean it...
Sorry if a joke about a footballer not having a shirt on under his tracksuit top has caused such outrage. It was not intended as a slur
