Irish endurance swimmer Steve Redmond has completed yet another part of the Oceans 7 challenge and now he’s only got one more swim to go.
Only last week we brought you the news that the Irish endurance swimmer Steve Redmond had completed another stage in the Oceans 7 Challenge, which pushes endurance swimmers to their limits as they navigate seven of the worlds toughest open water swims.
This morning, Steve completed the 27-mile Moloka’i Channel swim in Hawaii, which comes only one week after he completed the Cook Strait Swim in New Zealand. Some man.
Steve’s latest accomplishment saw him in the water for a whopping 22 hours and 30 minutes.
If that doesn’t seem bad enough, Steve encountered sharks and whales while on his journey, and his own Oceans 7 Challenge page claims that he completed the swim without any type of shark deterrent at all.
All that’s left for the West Cork man now is to complete the Tsugaru Strait, which is in between the islands of Honshu and Hokkaido in northern Japan connecting the Sea of Japan with the Pacific Ocean.
If Steve When Steve completes the swim he will step into the history books as the only person in the world to have covered seven of the most dangerous open water swims known to man.
All that’s left to say now is “COME ON STEVE!”
