Met Éireann hits four counties with Yellow Warning ahead of Halloween

The warnings come into effect on Thursday.

The country is set to be subject to heavy rain and strong winds in the coming days, with the yellow warnings to come into effect on Thursday.

Cork, Kerry, Waterford, and Wexford are the only counties to have been hit by wind warnings so far, from 11am-11pm on Thursday, October 30.

Additionally, Cork and Kerry have also received a yellow rain warning from 11am until 8pm the same day.

Met Éireann have warned off localised flooding, difficult travel conditions, and poor visibility as a result of the conditions.

They further urged warned the public of wave overtopping, difficult travel conditions, and possible fallen trees.

Furthermore, Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather took to social media to say Thursday will be 'rather tough'.

The conditions are believed to be the chaos following the historic Hurricane Melissa which has already swept across the Caribbean.

Carlow Weather added that the 'remnants could bring some wet and windy weather'.

Winter has well and truly set in.
