We could be in store for a ‘double dip’ heatwave, as the weather looks set to improve again next week

It’s a little bit cooler today than it has been all week (not that the weather is bad by any stretch of the imagination), but according to the Irish Independent, we wouldn’t put those sunglasses away just yet, as this is apparently going to be a ‘double dip’ heatwave.

Tomorrow will also be a little bit cooler, but later next week we could be in for record breaking highs as the lads at MET Eireann are predicting some serious heat in the next wave.

Forecaster Joanna Donnelly said that the hottest of the weather was still to come, and we could be looking at breaking the record high of 33.3C, recorded in 1887, in the coming week.

In general the temperatures next week will stay in the 20s, so don’t fold away the shorts just yet lads.
