With the amazing nerdfest that is Comic-Con taking place this week in San Diego, exclusive footage, merchandise and posters are being released each day in the exciting build up to some of this, and next year’s, biggest releases.
One of those big releases – actually, scratch that, GARGANTUAN releases is Godzilla, scheduled to be in Irish cinemas in May 2014. It is being directed by exciting new directorial talent Gareth Edwards, the man behind the brilliant 2010 low-budget indie film, Monsters.
The Englishman has been tasked with relaunching the Godzilla franchise, especially that there now seems to be an appetite once more for giant monster movies – you can check out JOE’s Pacific Rim interviews here with director Guillermo del Toro and his cast including Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day and Rinko Kikuchi.
In preparation for the Godzilla Comic-Con panel that take splace on the 20th July, Warner Bros and Legendary Entertainment have released this cracking new poster of a destroyed building that also resembles the beast itself:
