Premier League footballers are often accused of being out of touch with reality and not staying true to their roots. This could in no way be levelled at Hull defender Paul McShane.
The Republic of Ireland defender is a proud Wicklow man and has decided to support his local GAA team in the form of sponsorship.
GAA clubs right around the country know the plight of trying to generate sufficient funds to keep their sides going, but luckily for senior outfit Newtownmountkennedy, the former Manchester United man has decided to put his hands into his own pockets for the club.

A nice touch by McShane, showing that you can take the boy out of the GAA…
