Score one for the ‘fat guys’: Great trick play from college football sees offensive lineman on the scoresheet

In our humble opinion, there aren't enough trick plays designed to get an offensive lineman into the endzone

In our humble opinion, there aren’t enough trick plays designed to get an offensive lineman into the endzone

The undervalued positions on an American football team are always the “fat guy” positions. They play mostly on the line, and are really just there to block other guys, rarely, if ever, getting a touch on the ball.

That’s not how Fresno State like to play the game though, as they devised a very sneaky play to get one of their offensive linemen into the endzone and get his name on the scoresheet.

It’s not often that you see a play geared to getting the ball to one of your fat guys, but Austin Wentworth was more than happy to take the touchdown and the adulation from his team mates and fans. Poor old Cal Polytechnic ended up on the wrong side of a whoopin’ from Fresno, as the final score was 41-25.
