Video: A school in Knocklyon have gone to great lengths to get behind the Dubs

Remember the Belmullet school that channelled Andrea Bocelli for an epic Mayo tribute video? Now it’s Dublin’s turn to do something similar.

There have been so many All-Ireland Final songs cropping up in recent days and weeks that you really have to do something special in order to stand out from the rest and fair play to the folks at St. Colmcille’s School in Knocklyon, they’ve put an awful lot of effort into this video in support of Jim Gavin and the Boys in Blue this weekend.

While St. Brendan’s College in Belmullet chose an Andrea Bocelli song when recording their ‘Time to say Mayo’ tribute, Colmcille’s have gone with a musical influence far closer to home with their twist on ‘The Boys are Back in Town’ by Thin Lizzy, ‘The Dubs are back’.

It takes an awful lot of organisation to pull this kind of thing off so fair play to everyone involved and no offence to the Dubs but it was about time they got up off their arses to challenge the 16,000 or so specific Mayo All-Ireland songs that have been recorded in the last few weeks.
