The MacRory Cup was the setting for this action shot of the current Ireland manager in his Gaelic Football playing schooldays.

Martin O’Neill’s GAA background is very well known. The Derry native played underage for his club Kilrea and for his county and he also togged out for his school, St Malachy’s of Belfast.

Now, thanks to Jerome Quinn (@JeromeQuinn) we have a picture of O’Neill in action  for his school in the MacRory Cup, the biggest Gaelic Football competition for Ulster schools.

The caption tells us that the shot is of O’Neill scoring a point and he hit it so hard it flew out of the ground.
