Winning goals are always memorable, but this particular one scored by Syrian footballer Moataz Alsalhani for the Jordanian side Al Wehdat at the weekend has to be seen to be believed.
Okay, it may have been a fluke, but there’s a part of us that wants to believe that this was intentional and yet another stitch in the fabric we know as the Beautiful Game.
All we can say is that the pass which led to the goal was shockingly bad, but ultimately made to look brilliant by Alsalhani’s adjustment and subsequent goal. This was the only goal in the Jordanian Premier League game as Al Wehdat beat Al Ramtha 1-0.
